STEPHANIE'S SANCTUARY RIBBON CUTTING

Today marked the official launch of a powerful new statewide initiative, "Stephanie's Sanctuary," named in honor of Stephanie Parze. We were proud to kick off this program at the Freehold Township Police Department — the first municipality to embrace and pilot this meaningful effort.

The outpouring of support was truly inspiring. Thank you to the Police Chief and the entire department, the Mayor and Township Committee, the dedicated SNPF membership, and all of you who attended from communities across New Jersey. Your presence and continued support make initiatives like this possible.

"Stephanie’s Sanctuary" transforms cold, sterile, and intimidating spaces—such as storage rooms, interrogation areas, or crowded hallways—into warm, welcoming, and trauma-informed environments.

These calming, non-threatening rooms are designed to help victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse feel safe, supported, and seen. They also give advocates and law enforcement the opportunity to connect with victims in a space that promotes healing and trust.

The difference these sanctuaries make is immediate and powerful—as shown in the before-and-after photos below. Our goal is to create as many of these designated sanctuaries as possible in police departments and facilities throughout New Jersey.

To achieve that, we need your help. If you know your local Police Chief, Mayor, or Township Committee members, please share this initiative with them. It’s a win-win: there is no cost to the agencies, the spaces are beautifully renovated, and the impact on victims' lives is immeasurable.

We’ll be announcing our second location very soon. Thank you again for your continued support and for being part of today’s incredible milestone. Together, we are making a real difference.
